Window and Door Restoration
Paint stripping can be labor intensive and involve physical risks from chemicals and heat. Additionally, many paint stripping projects on historic properties involve dangerous lead paint. We're a Georgia EPD and EPA certified Lead-Safe company. Due to the many variables involved, we require a project assessment before providing an estimate. We create Do-Not-Exceed budgets, charging hourly labor and material within the budget set. We always start with test patches to determine the most efficient and safest methods of paint removal.
Window Sash
These can be removed and paint stripped in our shop. The Cobra speed heater takes off layers of paint in seconds. One sash can be stripped in 1 - 2 hours. The final finish is painted.
Fireplace Paint Strip
Removing one layer of paint in situ with paint stripper. Test patches showed the effectiveness of one round of paint stripper with no scraping or sanding.
Ceiling Paint Strip
This was labor and material intensive. It took several months working overhead. Painters had caulked between the sycamore beads. The client also wanted a natural wood refinish, which required detailed cleaning.
