Wood refinish projects generally include coloring and protective finishes. Paint both colors and protects the wood surface; dyes and stains offer little protection but change the surface color; clear protective coatings can range range from oils shellac to lacquer to polyurethane. We can do custom finishes as well as matching historic finishes.

Furniture Refinish

This chest of drawers had a clear finish but got water damaged in a flood. It was stripped of the lacquered finish, patched, primed, and painted for a child's nursery.

Natural Weathered

This 100-year old screen door had natural weathering that the owner wanted to retain. Dead wood was removed without erasing the weathering. The wood was conditioned with linseed oil to help preserve it.
